Volavola to leave Leicester Tigers

Ben Volavola will leave Leicester Tigers in the summer after one season with the club.

The 34-year-old joined in August, on the eve of the 24/25 campaign getting underway, after stints with Super Rugby side the NSW Waratahs and in France with Racing 92, Perpignan, and Agen.

He made ten appearances this season, including seven off the bench in the club's Gallagher Premiership run to the Premiership Final, and scored 25 points.

On Volavola, General Manager Richard Wilks said: "Ben Volavola is one of the good guys, one of the best; from a chance meeting with Michael [Cheika] in Paris to jumping on a plane to Portugal to join the squad for pre-season camp, with no guarantee of a contract, he has been brilliant."

"Always smiling and always happy to help others and the team, he has been selfless and contributed hugely behind the scenes this season. A player rarely makes such a significant impact in such a short space of time, especially when their season was hampered by a not insignificant injury, but Ben has done that."

"We were all delighted to welcome him back to the matchday squad for The Run In, and his performance against Sale Sharks in the play-off game speaks for itself. I wish Ben and his family all the very best on their next move, and I hope we will see him back at a game in the future; he will always be welcome."
