Leicester Tigers Academy take on Northampton Saints Academy at Oval Park on Friday (7pm) in the first of three games between the clubs in the space of four days.

Tigers and Saints also meet at Welford Road on Saturday in a sold out Aviva Premiership Rugby clash and the Tigers Development XV travel to Franklin’s Gardens on Monday night in the Aviva Premiership Rugby ‘A’ League.

Academy manager Neil McCarthy says Friday night’s game at Oval Park will be a good test for his young players.

“It is an under-18s game and is a good opportunity for our players to test themselves against our nearest rivals,” he said. “For some it will be their first taste of a local derby. It is a game we’re looking forward to.”
