Alix soaks in Bath during her walk for Matt

Tigers fan Alix Wood will take a well-earned break from her 230-mile fundraising trek on Saturday when she calls into the Recreation Ground to watch Bath Rugby take on London Wasps.

Alix, with the support of her husband Kevin, is walking from Launceston in Cornwall to Welford Road to raise money for the Matt Hampson Trust.

She has already covered more than 100 miles of her epic walk and will be welcomed by Bath Rugby for the Guinness Premiership game with London Wasps, where Alix and her husband will watch the game in their Tigers shirts before meeting supporters after the final whistle in the Clubhouse bar.

Kevin said: “Bath have been really good to us and have put our story on their website, which we have had donations from.

“We are going to the Rec and will be wearing our Leicester shirts, which will be interesting for a Bath and Wasps game!

“They have told people we will be there so hopefully people will ask us why we are there in our Tigers shirts and we can tell them our story.”

Alix set off on her walk from Launceston RFC on Sunday and aims to arrive at Welford Road in time for the first home game of the season against Newcastle Falcons on Saturday, September 19.

Kevin said: “It is going well. There have been lots of blisters. The weather has been fantastic, we couldn’t have asked for anything more.”
