Matt Toomua is settling into life at Leicester Tigers after arriving at the club today.

The Australia international centre has been meeting his new teammates and coaches at the club’s Oval Park training ground.

Toomua, who was stood down by Australia after being hurt in the opening game of the Rugby Championship, will be assimilated into training as he continues his recovery.

Director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: “He will be integrated into the club in the next couple of weeks.

“It’s great to have him and great to have him throughout the whole year because since Anthony Allen retired that 12 spot has probably not been filled in the same way.

“We have a true 12 who will help us run the game. Along with Owen Williams and Freddie Burns, Ben Youngs, Manu Tuilagi, Peter Betham, then you start to get some tasty combinations in there. We are looking forward to getting them on the field together.”
