The Qantas Wallabies broke a 10-match losing streak against their closest rivals with a stunning 26-24 victory in a Bledisloe Cup contest in Hong Kong on Saturday.
James O’Connor scored a last-minute try to level the scores and then landed the conversion to spark euphoric scenes among the Australians.
The Wallabies had raced into a 12-0 lead early on, but then had to fight back in the face of an All Blacks onslaught and come back from 24-12 down in the closing stages.
Australia now head to Europe, with the date against Leicester Tigers at Welford Road on Tuesday, November 9.
