Book now for Gloucester clash

Early-season pacesetters Gloucester Rugby provide the next opposition at Welford Road on Saturday, October 6 (kick-off 6pm) in an eagerly-awaited clash between last season's top two sides in the Guinness Premiership.

An exciting run of fixtures from the start of the season sees Tigers host Gloucester after wins against Bath and Bristol, and this weekend?s trip to London Wasps.

The Welford Road encounter with Gloucester is the first meeting of the sides since Tigers came out on top in the Guinness Premiership Final at Twickenham in May. And with both teams starting the season with two wins from two games, it promises to be another pulsating match.

The match will also see the return of Leon Lloyd to Welford Road for the first time following his move to Gloucester during the summer. Lloyd spent a decade in the first-team squad at Tigers before his departure at the end of the Double-winning season.

The Cherry and Whites have scored bonus-point wins over Leeds Carnegie and Saracens in the opening weeks of the campaign, with rugby league convert Lesley Vainikolo announcing his switch to Union with five tries on his Guinness Premiership debut against promoted Leeds. Their backline also features the youthful talents of Ryan Lamb, Anthony Allen, Olly Morgan and internationals James Simpson-Daniel and Iain Balshaw. Coach Dean Ryan is also able to call on internationals including Andy Hazell and James Forrester among his forwards.

Last season's fixture at Welford Road all-square at 27-27, giving an early-season indication of each side's merits in the upper reaches of the Guinness Premiership table and another tight tussle is expected on October 6.

Ticket prices for the game start from £20 for adults, £18 concession and £8 junior (under-16). For more information or to purchase tickets, contact the Tigers ticket office on 08701 28 34 30.
