The opening home game of the season produced a seven-try thriller as Tigers clinched a 37-27 victory over Premiership newcomers Exeter Chiefs, with the bonus-point score coming in the last play of the game.
Another seven tries were shared in Saturday’s trip to London Wasps, with Tigers claiming two bonus points in a narrow defeat.
World Cup winner Neil Back brings his Leeds Carnegie side to Welford Road looking to build on last season’s performances which established the Yorkshiremen back in the top flight after winning the Championship a year earlier.
“It’s tough sometimes being the team everybody wants to be beat, but we are used to that and we have to deal with it," said Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill.
"We’re not far off in terms of the level of performance, we've just got to do things more consistently well over the full 80 minutes. We’re scoring plenty of tries, but we need to control possession better.”
