Leicester Tigers kick off a new season in a new elite European rugby tournament at Welford Road next Saturday when Ulster Rugby are the visitors. Kick-off is at 7.45pm and tickets are available now.
The inaugural European Rugby Champions Cup features a Pool 3 fixture between two teams with three previous European titles and seven Final appearances between them in the last 18 years.
Tigers and Ulster are also old rivals in Europe, with home-and-away meetings in two of the last three seasons.
The European Rugby Champions Cup includes 20 teams in five pools, drawn from six countries.
Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill, who played in the club’s first European final in 1997 and shared in the triumphs of 2001 and 2002, said: “There’s nothing like those big European occasions at Welford Road, and Ulster up first in a new competition is going to be another big night here.”
This fixture, and all home games in the pool rounds of the tournament, is included in Tiger season tickets.
If you hold season tickets for under-10s or juniors, or for children as part of a family season ticket, the club will exchange these for adult tickets free of charge so you can enjoy this match with family and friends if a 7.45pm kick-off is too late for younger members.
