With the dust beginning to settle on one of the great Welford Road occasions, attention now turns to back-to-back clashes with local rivals Northampton Saints and world champions South Africa.

Tigers extended their unbeaten run at home to 18 games with a stirring fight-back against Ospreys in the Heineken Cup on Sunday.

A crowd of more than 20,000 shared in the occasion and played a full part as the players dug deep to take three points from a 32-32 draw, the highest-scoring draw in Tigers history.

Now Tigers are preparing for the visit of Northampton Saints in the first East Midlands derby of the season on Saturday, October 31.

Northampton are fourth in the Guinness Premiership table and recorded a memorable home victory over Munster in their opening game of this season’s Heineken Cup.

The game against world champions South Africa six days later will mark the official opening of the new 10,000-seat Caterpillar Stand and is the Springboks’ first fixture on their autumn tour to the Northern Hemisphere.

South Africa have been on a high since lifting the World Cup in 2007, beating the British & Irish Lions and winning the Vodacom Tri-Nations this year.

Tickets for all Tigers home games are available now. Book early to guarantee the best available seats. Phone the Tigers ticket hotline on 0844 856 1880, book online or call in to the new ticket office at Welford Road.
