Corporate clients Westbury Control Systems shared their executive box at Welford Road with a group of seriously ill and disabled children as part of the Box4Kids appeal at the Leicester Tigers home game against Bristol.
While Tigers recorded an eight-try victory in a vital Aviva Premiership fixture, Westbury’s group of guests enjoyed a VIP day at Welford Road.
Organised by the Barrie Wells Trust, local hospitals nominated children aged 9-17 for the Box4Kids event, allowing each of them to enjoy matchday hospitality at a major sporting event. As well as watching the big game, the Tigers visitors met first-team players Matt Toomua and Lachlan McCaffrey pre-match, while Westbury arranged for a Tigers shirt and ball for each child.
Paul Knott, director of Westbury Control Systems, said: “Being a host for the Barrie Wells Trust was a real privilege. Box4Kids is a great initiative and we hope our day at the rugby gave them a real lift. We look forward to being hosts again in the future.”
