In Leicester Tigers terms, David Matthews needs no introduction.

His impact on the club is unrivalled, on and off the pitch.

With 502 appearances, he remains the record holder for most appearances for the club after retiring from playing in 1974.

Following his illustrious playing career, Matthews coached the club and then moved in to senior roles as both president and director.

The legend of Matthews will live on forever in the hearts and minds of the Tigers Family and his contribution to the great game will never be forgotten.

To celebrate the life of the Legends' Legend, the club is opening an online condolences book for supporters to contribute to before it is collated and passed on to the Matthews family as a gift from those who knew and loved David the Tiger.

A summary of the book will also be published via the club's online channels as we continue to remember and honour the memory of the icon that is David Matthews.
