All summer we’ve been asking the #TigersFamily to send in their best Tigers sandcastles on their holidays with a prize for the best effort.
We’re giving away one adult season ticket and one under-10 season ticket to the parent and child who can build the best Tigers sandcastle on their summer holidays.
After a host of brilliant entries from beaches around the world, we can announce that our winner is five-year-old Lucy Dunkerton and her dad Sam from Oadby.
Lucy sent us her Welford Road sandcastle and explained: “My family went on holiday to Wales with my best friend Maisie’s family.
“I decided I wanted to build the Leicester Tigers stadium and so I made lots of Welford flags and then 15 Tigers players and 15 Wasps players out of sticks and wool.
“The next day my dad dug a big hole and we started making the stadium – I made a massive moat which my dad said would keep the Saints fans out!
“I got lots of sticks, stones and shells to decorate our stadium. My dad and Maisie’s dad got very serious and lined my stick men up in special orders. They even made the toilet block and put an iPhone up as the big screen.
“We had great fun and afterwards put on our Tigers shirts on and played rugby in the sand before having ice creams and watching the sea take the castle away.”
Sam told us: “The whole family had a fantastic time building the sandcastle.
“To come away with a season ticket for our hard work is just awesome. We will enjoy taking Lucy to home games.”
Thanks to all those who sent in their entries. Look out for some more Tiger competitions during the season.
