Jordan Crane says it is fitting that Lewis Moody will end his illustrious Leicester Tigers career in a Twickenham final.

Moody’s final Tigers game comes against Saracens in the Guinness Premiership Final on Saturday, May 29 (5.30pm).

And Crane, who won the Gatorade Performance of the Season award at the Guinness Premiership Awards night, hopes Moody can go out on a high at HQ.

“He is massive for the club and a big influence on the players,” said Crane after accepting his award. “It would have been sad to see him go if we had lost at the weekend.

“It is fitting that he is going to out at Twickenham in a final. It will probably encourage him to play even better.”

Tigers teammate Ben Youngs was also one of the big winners at the awards night having been named the Land Rover Discovery of the Season.

And he says he hopes the Guinness Premiership Final will be a memorable occasion.

Youngs said: “I hope it is an entertaining game. It is a full crowd and I hope it promotes rugby well.”

Tickets are on sale now to Tigers season ticket holders at the Welford Road ticket office, on the ticket hotline 0844 856 1880 and online by clicking here
