Tom Croft says there is a "real positive atmosphere" in the England camp after successive wins in the opening weeks of the RBS 6 Nations.Leicester Tigers flanker Croft is hoping to collect his 40th Test cap as England face Ireland, the other unbeaten side in the Championship, in Dublin on Sunday. Croft is alongside clubmate Tom Youngs among the replacements while Ben Youngs and Dan Cole are in the starting line-up.
“It is a really positive atmosphere to be involved in,” Croft told Talking Rugby.
“There is a large core of younger players in that 21-24 group leading the team, and that is what you want.”
Croft, 29, says it is an exciting time to be involved with those young players gaining more and more Test experience in the build-up to this year’s World Cup.
“The team is playing well,” he said. “We had a superb win over Wales in the first round. Then we beat Italy in the second game.
“Now we’re going into the Ireland game and it is massive with both teams unbeaten so far. It is a decider in terms of who is going to stay unbeaten after three rounds.
“Ireland are a dangerous side, they are very physical at the ball, and we have to look at combating that.”
