Development travel to Leeds in A League

Tigers Development are all set to take on Leeds Carnegie in their sixth Guinness A League fixture of 2007/08 this evening.

Tigers travelled to West Park Leeds RUFC this afternoon ahead of the 7pm kick-off with a mixture of youth and experience named in the starting XV.

Ben Herring skippers the side from the openside flank, with Richard Blaze, Mefin Davies, Boris Stankovich, Brett Deacon and Dave Young all selected in the pack.

Ayoola Erinle starts at outside centre, with Christophe Laussucq and Ian Humphreys chosen as the half-back pairing.

Ollie Dodge, who has impressed for Bedford in National One so far this season, takes the right-wing berth, while second row Calum Green will hope to build on a promising individual display against Sale this time last week.

Australian prop Salesi Ma’afu, who is with the club for three weeks as he looks to get game time under his belt before returning to the ACT Brumbies, is named among the replacements.

“Salesi’s been playing for the Barbarians on the weekend and Paddy Howard asked if we could have him here for three weeks just so he can experience something different, so that’s what we’re doing,” said Tigers forwards coach Richard Cockerill.
