Dublin Diaries - matchday is here

Figure image
Matchday has arrived and Leicester Tigers fans continue to arrive in Dublin ahead of this evening's Heineken Cup quarter-final with Leinster.

They will be greeted by blue skies, sunshine and temperatures of around 16C, as well as a warm welcome from the people of Dublin.

Many supporters arrived yesterday on flights from East Midlands Airport, to take in the sights, soak up the sun and enjoy the city’s hospitality. Tigers’ famous red, white and green colours were on display across the city and in bars and restaurants.

Some fans made the trip to Naas RFC to watch the Academy’s 23-20 victory over Munster Academy during the evening.

A capacity crowd of around 52,000 will be at the Aviva Stadium to watch the game, which is Tigers’ and Leinster’s 104th Heineken Cup tie.

For supporters who were unable to make the trip, the game is being shown live on the big screen in Final Whistle at Welford Road.

We will continue to update our Dublin Diaries, in association with East Midlands Airport.
