Tom Croft has been called in to the England training squad ahead of this weekend's RBS 6 Nations clash with Scotland at Twickenham.

His Leicester Tigers team-mates George Chuter and George Skivington, meanwhile, have been released from England training.

Croft, who has been capped 22 times by England, made his second start for Tigers against Saracens on Saturday following his return from a shoulder injury.

The 25-year-old has joined fellow Tigers Dan Cole, Louis Deacon, Toby Flood and Ben Youngs in the England training squad for the Calcutta Cup match at Twickenham on Sunday (3pm). England team manager Martin Johnson has also called Northampton’s Courtney Lawes in to his training squad.

Chuter and Skivington have been released along with Phil Dowson (Northampton Saints), Hendre Fourie (Leeds Carnegie), Charlie Hodgson (Sale Sharks), Joe Marler (Harlequins), Tim Payne (London Wasps), Chris Robshaw (Harlequins), Joe Simpson (London Wasps) and David Strettle (Saracens).
