England internationals Ben Youngs, George Ford and Manu Tuilagi are all in line for a first run-out of the pre-season programme in Friday’s match against the Ospreys at Welford Road (7.45pm).
Leicester Tigers head coach Matt O'Connor has shared gametime around the squad in the warm-up fixtures in the last two weeks against the Ospreys in Bridgend and then at home to Benetton Treviso, and now the squad enters a final countdown to the season-opener against Bath Rugby at Welford Road on Sunday, September 3.
Scrum-half Youngs and England fly-half Ford are ready to return to action on Friday, and Tuilagi is working his way back to match sharpness after a knee injury ended his 2016/17 season in January.
O’Connor welcomes all three back to his squad for Friday’s return fixture with the Ospreys.
“We’ve got a few players who we want to get out for a run this week, including those England guys,” O’Connor said. “We’re keen to get Manu involved and having him back will be a real positive for the group. Ben is ready to get out there and Fordy has been training really well too.”
