England will tackle All Blacks head on, says Cole

Dan Cole says England will aim to take the game to New Zealand when they conclude their autumn international series against the World Champions at Twickenham on Saturday.

Cole starts the game in the front row while Leicester Tigers teammates Tom Youngs, Geoff Parling, Toby Flood and Ben Youngs have been named in the replacements.

The All Blacks are unbeaten in 2013 and have lost just one game since winning the World Cup in 2011 – a record 38-21 defeat to England at Twickenham 12 months ago.

And Cole says All Blacks will be motivated by that result last year but says England will look to follow the example of France, who pushed New Zealand all the way in a 26-19 defeat in Paris last weekend.

“The French took it to the all blacks in that,” said the British & Irish Lion. “Epecially in the first half in the front row.

“The French were able to get stuck in and at the end of the game were going for a push over. There are opportunities there .

“You can’t rely on a moment of brilliance to win the game, you’ve got to be constantly attacking the All Blacks and taking the game to them. That’s what the French did in parts and that’s what we’ll take out of that and try to take into this weekend.”

Cole added: “They’ve been undefeated since last year and they want to put right the loss they had here.

“For us the mentality shifts from last year, when we came off two defeats. Now we’re undefeated so the mentality shifts.

“They’re a very good side but we do know they’re beatable if we perform at the highest level. It will be a very good game.”
