Leicester Tigers will kick off a new season of European competition with a trip to Glasgow Warriors in Round 1 of the Champions Cup in October before welcoming Dan Carter's Racing 92 to Welford Road a week later.

The Warriors, Celtic League champions two seasons ago, host the Tigers at Scotstoun on the evening of Friday, October 14 – the opening night of the tournament.

Racing 92, the French champions who denied Tigers a place in the Champions Cup Final last season, travel to Welford Road on Sunday, October 23 (5.30pm).

The Paris side beat Tigers in the semi-final at Nottingham last April to reach their first European Final but missed out on the silverware when they were beaten by Saracens in the Final. They did, though, end star fly-half Carter’s first season with the French Top 14 title, beating Toulon on the last day of the domestic season.

Tigers, who are entering a 20th season of competition in Europe’s top-flight tournament, face Munster in the back-to-back fixtures in Rounds 3 and 4 during the weeks leading up to Christmas.

The trip to Munster’s Thomond Park stadium, where Tigers won in the pool stages last season, is on Saturday, December 10 with the return at Welford Road a week later (December 17). Both fixtures are 3.15pm kick-offs on Saturday afternoons.

Tigers go to Paris to face Racing in Round 5 and then host Glasgow in the last pool fixture in January.

Dates, venues, kick-off times and television coverage for all matches in Rounds 1 to 4 of the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup have been announced by tournament organisers EPCR. Details for the matches in Rounds 5 and 6 will be announced in December following the conclusion of the Round 4 fixtures.

All pool fixtures in the European Champions Cup are included in Tigers season tickets, alongside all home games in the Aviva Premiership regular season and pool stages of the Anglo-Welsh Cup. For more details of season tickets, click here.
