Leicester Tigers long-standing club partner Everards has helped in supporting 12 community projects as part of a £40,000 funding programme.
With 160 applications in total, the Everards Community Excellence Fund opened for applications throughout April with £40,000 available to support community projects within a 20-mile radius of an Everards pub.
All entries went through a rigorous judging process with the successful projects going through due diligence in June.
The successful projects, in no particular order are:
- Broughton Astley Village Hall
- Home Starter Box Project
- John Storer House Community Shop
- Kenilworth Lions Shop
- South Leicestershire Wombles
- Upstairs at the Western
- Paradise Allotment
- There With You Fund
- Shama Women’s Care
- Headway Leicester
- Mountsorrel & Rothley Heritage Centre
- Wellbeing Café
Supported by The Everard Family Foundation and Carling, Kia Ryan who formed part of the judging panel on behalf of Everards, said: “We are delighted to support such a variety of projects and were astounded with the number of entries we had! Reading them all was so inspiring and quite emotional to read of so many good people and projects trying to support their communities and the people within them.
