Ex-Tiger Newby up next for Masterclass camps

Former Tigers captain and All Black Craig Newby is the next name to be announced as part of our Masterclass rugby camps for 2019.

Back rower Newby will take charge of the Breakdown and Defence session on May 29 at Welford Road as he shares the secrets to success as a forward.

The ex-Tiger joins Tigers new academy head coach Matt Smith as the lead coach's for the first set of Masterclass camps at Welford Road taking place between May 28 and June 1.

Open to U11 to U15 boys' age groups and U11 up to U18 girls' groups, youngsters will get the opportunity to play on the famous Welford Road pitch following in the footsteps of Tigers greats.

Newby made 80 appearances in a Tigers shirt winning two Premierships with the club in 2009 and 2010 and was captain in the 2010/11 Premiership Final team at Twickenham. He retired from the game in 2012 whilst at Tigers and made three appearances for New Zealand, making his debut against England in 2004 as well as winning a Commonwealth Games gold medal in Sevens.

Places cost just £59 per session and include a full day’s coaching, lunch and refreshments as well as Tigers goodie to take away.
