Festival fun at the Prima Tiger Cup

With more than 70 entries each season, the Prima Tiger Cup is the largest and most prestigious single-age playing opportunity in the rugby calendar.

U10s teams from around the country have been taking in part in the groundbreaking festivals, which celebrate the core values of rugby (teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship) on and off the pitch.

The Prima Tiger Cup, supported by Prima Solutions Ltd, is in full swing with teams recently competing in three regional festivals across the UK, with the final run of days taking place at Newark RFC on Sunday, November 6.

The LTTV cameras joined youngsters at Syston RFC in Leicestershire to get a taste of what the Prima Tiger Cup is all about.

Team who attended the festival at Syston Rugby club included Broadstreet RFC, Coalville RFC, Earlsdon RFC , Hinckley RFC, Leicester Forest U10s, Market Bosworth RFC, Market Harborough RFC, Melbourne RFC, Melton Mowbray RFC, Nuneaton RFC, Oadby Wyggestonian RFC, Rugby St Andrews RFC Shepshed RFC and South Leicester RFC.

During each regional event, Tigers will champion the clubs – their players, parents, coaches and supporters – with the reward of being selected to join other successful teams at a number of Prima Tiger Cup Celebration days at Leicester Tigers’ Mattioli Woods Welford Road home.

Leicester Tigers centre Jacob Cusick also joined youngsters for a photo and a chance to get involved with helping coach some of the teams. The Club Shop was also on hand for families to get their hands on the 2022/23 kits.

There were plenty of activities included Welford’s Wheel and the Freddie Burns Drop Kick Challenge wrapping up a full day of fun for everyone involved.
