Matt O’Connor says the release of the Aviva Premiership fixture list for the 2017/18 campaign gives a focus to Leicester Tigers’ pre-season work.

Tigers kick off the new season with a home game against Bath Rugby on Sunday, September 3 before heading to Franklin’s Gardens to take on neighbours Northampton Saints in Round 2.

"The day the fixtures are released brings the new season a step nearer"

Head coach O’Connor is already looking forward to a huge Welford Road occasion against old rivals Bath.

O’Connor said: “The day the fixtures are released is an exciting one for players and supporters and brings the new season a step nearer, and, coming at the start of pre-season, means we can see what we are working towards.

“It will be good to start the season at home. Games between Tigers and Bath are always big occasions and I am sure there will be a huge matchday crowd at Welford Road to welcome in the new season.

“Then there’s an East Midlands derby away to Northampton Saints in Round 2. Having a derby day in just the second weekend of the season at Franklin’s Gardens will be great for the players and the supporters and one we’ll look forward to.”

Tigers season tickets are available now, including entry to all home league fixtures as well as home games in the pool stages of the European Champions Cup and Anglo-Welsh Cup, and the two pre-season fixtures against Benetton Treviso and the Ospreys in August.

Match tickets details will be announced shortly.
