Front-row company

Supporters were treated to another entertaining and informative Everards Members' Evening at Welford Road this week in the company of front rowers George Chuter, Alex Moreno and Julian White.

As well as talking about life in the tough world of the front row, each player described their experiences at Leicester and, in Alex's case, travelling across the world in the search for professional rugby. Former Italy international Moreno also said he was not surprised by the Azzurri results in the RBS 6 Nations Championship this season, while Chuter and White talked about England's fresh start and the new law changes which relate to the scrum.

Chuter fielded a number of questions related to his matchday programme notes. "Most of it is based on real events, only the names have been changed!" he quipped.

White, described by colleague Moreno as one of the toughest props he had ever had to play against, said: "Tighthead is a position that takes a long time to get used to. I have been playing in the front row for a long time. The strength of the scrum is not down to one player, it is down to everyone coming together and working as a unit."

The final Everards Members Night of the season is the annual Player of the Year awards on April 11. This is already a sell-out. Nomination forms are available to download here, once complete please hand into the ticket office or main reception at Welford Road.
