More than 200 players from club partners and local businesses graced the Welford Road turf on Friday as they took part in the Global Payments Corporate Touch Rugby Tournament.
A total of 14 teams took part in the competition – supported by financial technology experts Global Payments – across 52 mini matches at the home of Leicester Tigers.
Suitable for men and women of all abilities, each team received their own bespoke kit branded with their company name and logo as well as food and refreshments throughout the day, before an evening of live music from Birmingham band The Smooth Criminals.
Fisher German emerged Cup champions after running in three tries against Exclusive Networks in a thrilling final, while The BGL Group beat club partners – and sponsors of the East Stand – Mattioli Woods 2-1 to lift the Shield.
Tournament supporters Global Payments were pipped by TechTrak in the Bowl final after a ‘golden try’ deep into extra time, and club partners De Montfort University picked up the Wooden Spoon after beating Growth Partners in their play-off earlier in the afternoon.
