Get your class active with Global Payments Healthy Schools

In just under two years, the Global Payments Healthy Schools have helped more than 9,000 pupils across Leicestershire to learn about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.

Primary school pupils have been engaging with the programme, which is driven by Leicester Tigers and club partner Global Payments, as part of a week-long takeover giving them the chance to think about the lives they lead.

Tigers health education officer Ashleigh Theobald has been involved in the initiative from the very start, joining the club back in February 2017.

With a background in coaching and teaching both overseas and across a variety of sports, Ash shares her knowledge of food, nutrition and exercise to get pupils involved with a mix of theory and practical exercises around healthy living.

At each school she visits, Ash picks two Healthy Eating champions to win free match tickets to a Tigers match and join pupils from other schools for a photo on the pitch.

Thirty Healthy Schools champions will be heading to Welford Road for this weekend’s European Challenge Cup match against Calvisano, where they will walk out onto the pitch and have a photo with a Tigers player, as well as the CEO of Global Payments, Pete Bettles.

Match tickets are available by clicking here
