Gibson heads north to join Glasgow Warriors

Former All Black centre Daryl Gibson has left Tigers to sign for Glasgow Warriors on a two-year deal.

Gibson made his debut for Tigers on September 13, 2003 and went on to appear 92 times for the first team. His experience saw him take on the role of vice captain, while his commitment to the cause could never be doubted. Daryl was a key part of the club's double-winning efforts last season, playing 25 games in all competitions in 2006/07.

"I'm obviously disappointed to be leaving Tigers but an opportunity arose to join Glasgow this season," said Gibson. "I've had a great four seasons at the club and I'll miss all the Tigers fans who have been fantastic.

"I'm looking forward to helping Glasgow develop further after last season's encouraging performances. I'm determined to make Glasgow more successful and help the Warriors to perform well in the Magners League and Heineken Cup. The move to Firhill is exciting and with improved team performances and excellent facilities for the supporters, we'll hopefully get more people supporting the professional game in Glasgow."
