Leicester Tigers global partner club Dendermonde RC had a day to remember last weekend when both the club’s Mens and Womens teams were crowned champions of their respective leagues. 

The Men’s senior side beat second-placed side La Huple in the play-off final 13 points to 6 winning their third consecutive title in the last three seasons.

First winning the league in 2012, the four-time winners have dominated Belgian rugby top division and the club had more to celebrate thanks to the women’s ‘Gazelles’ side.

The Gazelles of Dendermonde put an end to Boitsfort’s two-year reign as champions beating them 12-7 in the Division One play-off final. Dendermonde endured their only defeat of the season to Boitsfort in the domestic cup final in match but claimed their tenth league title in the club’s history.
