As we reach the business end of the rugby campaign, we share fantastic news about Leicester Tigers’ global partner clubs Dendermonde RFC and Kuala Lumpur Tigers.
Dendermonde RFC
Dendermonde’s senior side and women’s team mathematically guaranteed their place in the play-offs in their respective leagues.
The mens side sit top of the Belgian Elite League Division 1. The senior side are nine points clear at the top with just one game remaining this season before the play-off fixtures as they chase third consecutive title.
The ‘Gazelles’ have enjoyed a dominant season with their ‘Gazelles III’ team also adding to the club’s successes crowned as champions earlier this month.
Leicester Tigers also hosted a week-long rugby camp for Dendermonde’s youth teams earlier this month as the clubs continue to work together to develop youth talent.
Kuala Lumpur Tigers
Leicester Tigers coaches continued their international tour following their visit to Japan last month supporting the International Rugby 10’s Tournament 2018.
Youth teams up to KL Tigers U18 team were in action against other clubs from Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong in one of the region’s biggest fixtures of the year.
KL Tigers mens team also faced the Singapore National team closing the first day of the tournament.
With the world’s eyes turning to the Rugby World Cup in Japan next year, Tigers links with Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia continue to play a key role in developing the game across Asia.
