James O'Connor has been named in the Australian squad to take on the British & Irish Lions.
O'Connor signed for the club two weeks ago, amongst several incoming names to bolster Head Coach Geoff Parling's Tigers squad.
The new Head Coach will now be working directly with the fly half over the summer in his capacity as the Wallabies Assistant Coach, prior to moving to Leicester.
O'Connor will also link up with ex-Tiger Harry Potter, the wing also having been named in the final squad for the Lions tour.
The experienced #10 started all three tests when the Lions last toured Australia in 2013 and (along with prop James Slipper) has the opportunity to become only the second player in Australia's history to represent his country in successive tours against the British & Irish Lions.
JOC will also look to add to the 64 international caps he has accrued, scoring 279 points in that time.
