Goldsmiths player voting still open

Leicester Tigers supporters have a week left to vote for their Goldsmiths Player of the Month.

Vereniki Goneva, Manu Tuilagi and Tom Youngs have been nominated for the first Goldsmiths Player of the Month award of the new season. Voting closes on Thursday, November 11.

Fijian wing Goneva started every game in September and joined a select group of Tigers players when he scored a try in each of his first two Aviva Premiership games for the club, against London Welsh and Worcester Warriors. He has also been impressive in defence with a number of turnovers, including one against Worcester that led to a length of the field try for Manu Tuilagi.

Tuilagi has also started the season in try-scoring form, scoring two tries in the win over Worcester Warriors at Welford Road. His first try in that game won the vote among supporters of Aviva Premiership Rugby for the Try of the Week for Round Two.

Youngs made his first-ever start for Tigers at hooker on the opening weekend against London Welsh and has started all Tigers' games during September, despite fierce competition for the No2 shirt. It is easy to see why, with Youngs, who is in the England Saxons squad, showing excellent form with his set-piece and in the loose during the opening fixtures.

The Tigers Player of the Month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are also official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.
