The appeal by Wasps over the length of the sanction given to Jimmy Gopperth has been dismissed.Gopperth received a three-week ban by a RFU disciplinary panel on Tuesday night.
The player pleaded guilty to punching or striking, contrary to law 10.4(a) during the Leicester Tigers vs Wasps game on November 1. He is free to play again on November 24.
Wasps appealed against the length of the ban but this was dismissed at a hearing on Thursday. The panel comprised Gareth Rees QC (Chairman), Martyn Wood and Lee Mears.
