Hambo Day for Friday night derby match

Tigers take on local rivals Northampton Saints on Friday, March 22 (7.45pm) which will also mark this season’s The Matt Hampson Foundation charity day at Welford Road.

Formed in 2011, the Foundation offers hope and inspiration to young people with serious injuries, using the inspiration and experience of Matt to help those in need of support.

Volunteers from the Foundation will be helping raise awareness and fundraising for the charity during derby day.

Hambo this year celebrated the opening of the Get Busy Living! Centre, a purpose-built rehabilitation facility in Burrough on the Hill, Leicestershire.

By assisting individuals by offering direct grants or by paying into existing and future funds to assist with equipment, technology or just every-day expenses, the Foundation continues to drive rehabilitation through the love of sport.

Tigers players will be wearing Hambo T-shirts in the warm-up ahead of kick-off, with the matchday’s official flagshakers waving a special Matt Hampson Foundation flag.

Representatives from the charity will also be station on the plaza outside the Holland & Barrett Stand.
