Hamilton named in Scotland squad

James Hamilton has been named in Scotland’s 35-man squad for training ahead of the RBS 6 Nations Championship.

The Tigers lock has 13 senior caps, including three starting appearances during the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

Head coach Frank Hadden also confirmed that Sale Sharks back row Jason White would continue as Scotland captain.

Omitted from the squad since the World Cup are lock Scott Murray, prop Craig Smith and hooker Scott Lawson but Hadden says there is still a chance to push for places in the Six Nations.

Marcus Di Rollo is also absent after a commitment to make himself available exclusively for his new club, Toulouse, during this season’s Championship. He is, though, keen to push for a Scotland place again in the future.
