Harrison calls for a reaction to home defeat

Sam Harrison is looking for a reaction from Leicester Tigers to the defeat by Worcester Warriors as the squad prepare for a big run of games.

Tigers remain in the Aviva Premiership top four, despite the 31-27 defeat to Worcester at Welford Road, after claiming a losing bonus point from the game.

Tigers travel to Wasps in the Aviva Premiership this weekend, before the back-to-back European games against Munster Rugby and league fixtures with Saracens and Exeter Chiefs at Christmas and New Year.

Harrison, who captained Tigers after the late withdrawal of Dom Barrow, said the squad was disappointed by the performance and result against Warriors, and were focused on getting a reaction.

“Full credit to Worcester," said Harrison, who was voted the Spire Man of the Match by Tigers fans on the official club app. "They have some confidence on the back of last week’s win and came here and built on that performance.

“We weren’t accurate in key areas and gave away a couple of soft tries in that first half. We got back into it with five minutes to go but you never  want to leave it to the last decision of the game to win or lose the match.

“As a group we are really disappointed. We have a huge December. We are targeting those games. We have boys to come back.

“We are still strong as a group and we are still confident as a group. You have set-backs like this, how we react to this is going to determine how our season goes.”
