Heineken Cup dates & venues announced

Heineken Cup organisers ERC have revealed the chosen venues and dates for the semi-finals of the Heineken Cup

The first of the 2012/13 tournament semi-finals will take place on Saturday, April 27, with the second match scheduled for Sunday, April 28.

Stade de la Mosson in Montpellier will stage a first Heineken Cup semi-final with the winners of the ASM Clermont Auvergne versus Montpellier quarter-final meeting the winners of the Harlequins versus Munster Rugby tie at the 32,000-capacity stadium in France’s Languedoc region.

And either Twickenham Stadium or the Aviva Stadium will host the Sunday fixture following today’s announcement.

If Saracens defeat Ulster Rugby in their quarter-final, then they will meet the winners of the Toulon versus Leicester Tigers tie at Twickenham. If, however, Ulster win, the semi-final will be played at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

The Heineken Cup semi-finals are played at venues designated by ERC and the clubs who have home-country advantage were determined by a draw which was conducted in January at Welford Road following the conclusion of the pool stage.

Ticket sales details for the two matches will be available on ercrugby.com later this week.

The 2013 Heineken Cup Final is at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday, May 18 (5pm).
