Two-time winners Tigers, who finished runners-up last season, were among the top seeds for this morning’s draw in Paris.
Ospreys were pool rivals in 2008/09, while Clermont Auvergne were the runners-up in the French Championship this season. Italian side Viadana are new opponents for Tigers.
Tigers chief executive Peter Wheeler said: “In Ospreys and Clermont Auvergne we have got two of the best teams out of the draw.
“Last year things were extremely close between us and Ospreys. The games over recent seasons have been very competitive and we can only expect that again.
“Clermont have been in the top four strongest sides in France for a number of years. Unfortunately for them they were unable to win the championship again this year which will make them redouble their efforts to be successful next season.
“There are no easy games in the Heineken Cup, the Italian sides have been steadily improving and Viadana will be a new side for us to face.
“For a competition to generate the crowds it now does, the Heineken Cup has almost moved on one more stage over the last season and it probably has further to go.”
Fixture details will be revealed following discussions between organisers ERC and their broadcast partners. These will be posted on the Tigers website as soon as details are confirmed.
