Heyes in Tigers quartet with England

Uncapped prop Joe Heyes is among four Leicester Tigers players included in a 28-man England squad named to join a training camp this week.

The 21-year-old Heyes, a graduate of the Tigers academy, is joined by experienced colleagues Ellis Genge, George Ford and Ben Youngs I nthe group named by national coach Eddie Jones this morning.

Jones said: “Our preparation to build the team for the Italy game starts now. We have a three-day camp this week and another one next week then we’re into the week of our Quilter Cup match against the Barbarians. We’ll be slowly building up, working on the basics and working on team cohesion.”

Heyes has played for England Under-20s and now has 45 first-team appearances under his belt with Tigers.

The group will train together from Tuesday to Thursday this week and an updated squad will be confirmed next week ahead of the next camp.
 
England have six fixtures this autumn, starting with the uncapped Quilter Cup against the Barbarians on October 25.
