Holmes is fans' Lumbers Player of the Month

Jonah Holmes has been named as the latest winner of the Lumbers Player of the Month award after topping the voting among Leicester Tigers supporters.

The 26-year-old Holmes, who was this week named in the Wales squad for the Six Natioons Championship, finished ahead of fellow shortlisted players Mike Fitzgerald and Ben White in the voting, with the winner announced at half-time in Saturday’s European fixture against Ulster.

Holmes took the award for his performances against Racing 92 in Paris, Harlequins, Bath and Gloucester.

Supported by High Street jewellers Lumbers and voted for by Tigers supporters, the monthly award recognises the contributions of individual players to the team throughout the campaign.

Each month, fans will be asked to pick their top performer from a shortlist of three players nominated by the Tigers coaching staff. The player with the most votes on the Lumbers website will win the award, which will be presented on the Welford Road pitch during half-time of a first-team fixture.
