Jonah Holmes has won the Citizen Try of the Week for his score against Worcester Warriors.

It was Holmes’s eighth try of the season and came at the end of a brilliant counterattack that began in the Tigers 22.

Telusa Veainu, who was also on the Try of the Week shortlist, began the attack with a blistering break before a snipe by Sam Harrison continued the attack which ended with Sione Kalamafoni putting Holmes in to score at the corner.

It was voted the Citizen Try of the Week for Round 17 by fans of Tigers and Premiership Rugby.

It is the second time in as many weeks a Leicester Tigers player has won the Try of the Week vote after Veainu picked up the accolade for his score against Saracens in Round 16, and the fourth so far this season.
