After helping more than 1,000 young players improve their game on Rugby Courses this summer, Leicester Tigers have announced a bumper programme for the October half-term.

Tigers are running five camps during October, including a rugby course in The Netherlands, and bookings are being taken now.

“We have an exciting programme of rugby courses planned for the October half-term,” says Scott Clarke, the Tigers community manager. “We aim to build on the success of the summer when we had more than 1,000 players attend our courses and welcomed some of the most talented and enthusiastic players we have ever seen on Tigers Rugby Courses.”

Tigers coaches will be running a camp at Leicester Forest RFC from October 17-21. The following week (October 24-28) Tigers Rugby Courses will be held at Thorney RFC near Peterborough and Bloxham School in Oxfordshire as well as Lindum Sports Club in Partnership with Lincoln Minster School and The British School in The Netherlands.

Tigers Rugby Courses are supported by energy efficiency specialists Mark Group and offer coaching in all aspects of the game under the watchful eyes of head coaches including former Tigers captain Ian 'Dosser' Smith, double European Cup winner Glenn Gelderbloom and former Tigers hooker Troy Thacker.

George Skivington, Boris Stankovich and Ed Slater were among the first-team players who made an appearance at the summer courses and took part in question and answer sessions while Academy manager Neil McCarthy and assistant manager Tosh Askew also paid visits.

“We are developing the programme all of the time, keeping it fresh and relevant to what’s happening in the Tigers Academy to make sure that the very latest ideas and techniques at the top of the game are filtered down,” says Clarke.
