Tickets for the Independence Cup fixture between Leicester Tigers and the National Rugby Football League's Rough Riders are now on sale.Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia is the venue for the game on Saturday, August 8. It will be the first elite professional rugby match played in the United States by a professional American team.
Lincoln Financial Field is the home of NFL's Philadelphia Eagles and has a 69,000-seat capacity.
The Independence Cup will kick off the formation of America's first professional rugby league, the NRFL. Tickets went on general sale from www.ticketmaster.com at 3pm today.
The NRFL's Rough Riders, the first elite pro rugby team in US history, is a collection of the best professional rugby prospects, made up of former NFL athletes, college American football players, collegiate and club rugby players, and international players.
Since 2003, Lincoln Financial Field has hosted 19 national and international soccer matches, 16 sold-out concerts, the NCAA Lacrosse Championships, the annual Army-Navy game and other family-themed events. For more information, visit www.lincolnfinancialfield.com/
