Interest building in World party

Tickets are selling well for the return of international rugby to Leicester during December. The Walkers Stadium is to host a match between a World XV and South Africa on Sunday, December 3 (kick-off 3pm).

Organisers are hoping to announce the first of their named players for the fixture very soon, with World Cup-winning coach Bob Dwyer taking charge of the World XV squad.

The South Africans, who face back-to-back Tests against England at Twickenham and a Test in Ireland during the autumn international period, are making the trip to Leicester to celebrate a centenary of touring with their rugby sides. They played their first tour match in 1906, when they faced the Midland Counties in Leicester.

Chances to see international rugby do not come along very often, so this represents a perfect opportunity for rugby fans to see some top southern-hemisphere players in action and some entertaining guest names in the World XV.

Tickets are on sale now from Leicester Tigers, priced £20, £30 and £35. To reserve your seats call the Tigers ticket office hotline on 08701 28 34 30.
