Leicester Tigers will be cheered on by their England contingent at Sunday's LV= Cup Final with Northampton Saints.

England internationals Dan Cole, Tom Croft, Geoff Parling, Manu Tuilagi and Ben Youngs are all set make the trip to Worcester’s Sixways Stadium to watch Tigers take on close rivals Saints.

Parling took time out from training with England ahead of Saturday’s Six Nations clash with Ireland to speak to rfu.com about the final.

“They are always huge occasions,” said Parling, who will win his fifth international cap when he starts for England at Twickenham on Saturday.

“Leicester will approach it as they would any other game but in terms of bragging rights in the midlands and how the fans react to the game they are absolutely huge.

“There is always that extra bit of intensity when Leicester and Northampton play.”

He added: “The Leicester guys are all going up. We have a de-brief here on Sunday morning and then we’ll all head up there to support the boys.

“Silverware is important. This season we had a tough start when the guys were away at the World Cup. I think our general performances since have been good but a bit of silverware is important to look back on at the end of the season and think we did well there. Also, it’s good to get the confidence up pushing towards the end of season.”

Saints and England scrum-half Lee Dickson also commented on the importance of Sunday’s fixture, said: “LV= Cup is a brilliant occasion, we’ve won it before, two years ago, and it probably makes it even more special that we’re playing against Leicester as well.

“After the game at the weekend me, Dylan, Ashy and Fodes are getting in the car and going up there to support the lads. We’ll make sure we sit quite close to the Leicester boys at the game and give them a bit of friendly banter.”
