Leicester Tigers Rugby Camps off kick off a new year during the February half-term and there is still time to enrol a young player for sessions at SMC Brooksby Campus and Denstone College.

There is something for every young player, girls and boys, at the opening Tigers Rugby Camps of 2022 based at SMB College Brooksby Campus near Melton Mowbray (Tuesday-Friday, February 15-18) and at Denstone College in Staffordshire (Monday-Thursday, February 21-24).

Both venues also have alternative outdoor pitches and indoor facilities to ensure coaching can continue even in the most inclement weather.

Tigers Rugby Camps focus on skills development in a fun and physically active setting with professional coaches from the Tigers community team.

The Camps programme has evolved to include tag rugby mornings for the youngest players, core camp full days for juniors, development afternoons to challenge teenagers and also a girls-only provision, providing a fun and rewarding experience for all participants.

• Tag Rugby Camps encourage the players in the under-7 and under-8 groups, with three mornings (9.30am-12.00pm) of games and enjoyable activities to support the development of fundamental movement, rugby and social skills. No previous rugby experience is necessary as tag provides a perfect introduction to the game. Price £55.
• Core Camps run over 4/5 full days (9.30am-3.30pm) for players in the under-9s to under-13s age-groups, following age-grade guidelines, with sessions based on fun activities, rugby skills and fundamental fitness. Price £120.
• Development Camps take place over three afternoons (1.00-3.30pm) for the under-14, 15 and 16 age groups, with a sharper focus on tactical and technical skills alongside athletic development, all based on the themes of the club’s junior academy and ACE college programmes. Price £55.
• Girls-Only Camps (Denstone only this February) are suitable for all abilities in the under-13, 15 and 18 groups to develop skills and game awareness. Price £75.
