The East Midlands derby between Leicester Tigers and Northampton Saints at Welford Road has been confirmed as a Friday evening kick-off on March 22.

This Gallagher Premiership Round 17 contest has been chosen for live coverage by broadcast partners BT Sport in the first weekend of league fixtures following the Six Nations Championship.

The derby fixture is being played on Friday evening as games between Saracens and Harlequins at London Stadium and Newcastle Falcons versus Sale Sharks at St James’ Park have been selected for live broadcast on the Saturday.

We recognise that Friday evening fixtures present challenges to many supporters who travel to Welford Road and have made representation to Premiership Rugby. But we also know that derby night under lights will be a big occasion at the home of the Tigers and have plans in place to ensure this is another memorable evening.

All junior season tickets will be upgraded to adult tickets for free so you can bring other friends and family if you think kick-off is too late for younger supporters. This will be done automatically within the ticket system so there is no need to contact the Tigers ticket office in advance.

Tigers season ticket holders will have the opportunity to secure special early bird prices of just £15 adults and £5 juniors to bring other friends and family from January 5.

And if any season ticket holder cannot get to the match, they will have the opportunity to resell their tickets via our Ticket Resale / Buybacks system and we will also give them the chance to have an additional ticket to another match of their choice.

Welford Road will host special food and drink promotions on the evening.

Match ticket sales details open in the new year, with season ticket holders and members able to purchase from Saturday, January 5 and they have will priority for a full week before general sales to all other supporters begin on January 11.
