Matt Smith says the clash with Newcastle Falcons was all about the result after making his 150th start for Leicester Tigers in the Aviva Premiership fixture.
Smith reached another landmark in his Tigers career at Kingston Park on Sunday, but said the victory was the most important thing about the day.
The versatile back has now made a total of 210 appearances for the club in all competitions since his debut for the club in 2006.
He said: “I didn’t think about it too much. It is probably one of those things I’ll look back on when I retire.
“The most important thing was getting the win, which we did. The win topped off a special day for me.
“It’s tough to go up there and play but the win was the most important thing. It sets us up for the next phase of the season.”
