Welford Road hosts a series of Rugby Masterclasses during half-term week and there is still time to book places for the young player in your family.
Club legend Ian ‘Dosser’ Smith, All Blacks cap Scott Hamilton, former player Brett Deacon and England international Mathew Tait are the lead coaches for specific skills sessions, and there is also a girls-only Masterclass.
The Masterclass schedule begins on Tuesday (May 29) when Tait leads a session on Attack and Decision Making, followed by Breakdown and Defence with the club’s senior development coach Deacon on Wednesday (May 30).
Smith, who made more than 330 appearances for Tigers before a five-year spell as head coach, leads the Forward Play and Scrum session on Thursday, May 31 and also the Girls Masterclass on Friday, June 1.
Hamilton, a three-time Premiership champion with Tigers, leads the final Masterclass session on Saturday, June 2, focusing on Attack and Continuity.
Sessions are open to players of all abilities and aged under-11 to under-16 – or up to under-18s for the girls’ masterclass – and are based on the pitch at Welford Road stadium.
As well as a full day’s coaching, players also receive a hot lunch and a Tigers drinks bottle and a T-shirt or ball to take away.
Places are available to book now, priced just £69. Book now by phoning the Tigers ticket office on 0116 319 8888 (option 2) or online suing the link below.
