In the third edition of the annual Hackathon, Leicester Tigers challenged De Montfort University students to identify “an area of global growth and opportunity” for the club in a country of their choice.

Fifteen MSc Sport Management students from DMU, accompanied by their tutor Sally Skea, were invited to Mattioli Woods Welford Road for the occasion last month.

Tigers staff Mark Davies and Katie Hurley visited DMU to identify a winning team, based on creativity and applied research.

The winning team, who presented the case study on Spain, were voted as winners and rewarded with Tigers goodie bags.

Among the runners-up were studies done on Namibia, the UAE and USA.
